IN THE ACADEMYTether
February 2019
Tether was created for the 50th anniversary of the Dance department at the University of Illinois. It is a work that combines BFA candidates in the Dance at Illinois Department with alum from the department who have been making serious tracks in the professional world. Split right down the middle, the three alums brought with them experience and gravitas and the students brought their energy and eagerness to nail this material based in black girl double dutch games, clever ditties portending to mature futures and crafted material requiring wicked timing and mastery of the ties that hold us together.
